Welcome to Veterinary Superheroes Relief Services!
Whether you’re a hospital struggling to fill Licensed Technician shifts or a Licensed Technician seeking shifts that give you control of your schedule and life, we’re here for you!
Veterinary Heroes Relief Service was established in 2021 by a Licensed Veterinary Technician, Practice Manager and mother of two who was faced with both the struggles of the business finding staff and as a technician facing burnout.

There's no question that finding strong, licensed technical staff was difficult in the years prior, but that only became more difficult with the rise of the pandemic in 2020. Our patient loads increased with so many individuals working from home and noticing illness more quickly in addition to adding new furry members to their families. Many clients, believed to be frustrated by the pandemic, became increasingly aggressive and verbally abusive with veterinary staff. In addition, fewer and fewer technicians were graduating out of what were once busy programs. Clinics were more short handed than ever, coupled with increased business, due to isolation or exposure absences. Every team member began doing twice the work they had before! We watched as technician after technician began leaving the field due to burnout and poor wages. This poses problems for hospitals and dedicated care providers.

We have a solution for both! See how we can help you today.

FAQs For Technicians
Why should I join Veterinary Superheroes Relief Service?
Veterinary Superheroes allows you to take control of your schedule providing you the opportunity for flexible work hours, dictated by you. Ease of use of our website paired with hospital relief shift opportunities allow you to work where you want, when you want.
Veterinary Superheroes aims to provide full transparency on the hospital to ensure better matching. Ultimately, we aim to empower you so you have better work schedule, a community full of other professionals, and other support vehicles that we hope will give you a better quality of life.
Am I an employee or a contractor?
Based on the work, you’re a W2 employee of Veterinary Superheroes Relief Service. This is due to state regulations and keeps you from having to have an individual business license to pick up shifts at other locations. That being said, it’s unlike any other position you’ve ever had. You choose your hours, availability and frequency.
Do I need to work a certain number of shifts to stay active?
No, you are welcome to complete one shift or as many as you want–it’s up to you!
Is there anything I need to do right before my shift?
Prior to your shift, the hospital should contact you at least 24 hours before to confirm. If you are no longer able to perform your shift or you will be late for any reason, it is imperative that you contact the hospital with as much advance notice as possible. Cancelling a shift without cause or failing to show up will result in disciplinary action including removal from the service.
